ABOUT US
Named for the traditional Welsh cheer to good health, YAKI DAH kicked off their inimitable style of alt-punk-blues fused rock and roll with the wildly popular debut single ‘Do Me Wrong’, followed by two more singles leading up to the launch of their debut EP ’16 Miles To Merthyr’ in August 2024. With their high energy shows, infectious personalities and originality to spare, YAKI DAH have been steadily carving out a path through today’s rock and metal scene, emerging from small support gigs in their hometown of Swansea to flourishing festival favourites across the UK for 2025.
Self-described as a mad mash up of blues-punk-disco-rock-metal the YAKI DAH sound is unmistakeable; their positive, refreshing approach to creating and playing music coupled with their on-stage energy and high spirits are rapidly gaining them a loyal and enthusiastic fan base far and wide.

'There was a complete change of pace when YAKI DAH took to the stage, altogether punkier and spunkier. Their don’t-give-a-shit attitude, terrible dad dancing and the guitarist’s yellow crocs made for a thoroughly exhilarating performance. They bounced and shouted through a short but sweet set of originals with a couple of covers thrown in. It’s all fast and furious with no fucks given, the room erupts into a riot of waving arms and laughter. Fun, fun and more fun' - Jo Crosby, Rockflesh
'This band is on fire, YAKI DAH are certainly ones to watch out for. If you want to see a band that obviously love what they are doing, will get you jumping about without a care in the world and leave you with that feeling that you’ve had a great night, then YAKI DAH are the ones to see' - Pete Devine, Pete's Rock News and Views
'Picking up the mood considerably, local boys YAKI DAH bring their alt-rock punk edged vibe with an energy that is almost exhausting. Frontman Christian Sayers is in great form, full of wit and exuberance that is impossible not to warm to. YAKI DAH bring it big time, and their comedic elements inject humour into the day. “We’re going to finish with a huge apology to Sir Paul McCartney” Sayers says, before YAKI DAH obliterate “Help”. It’s fantastic fun all round. Check these boys out. They’ll make you smile if nothing else' - Moshville Times
That's right, YAKI DAH are supporting the Queen of Punk herself, the incredible Cherie Currie on her farewell tour this Winter. Cherie - the iconic voice of The Runaways - comes back to the UK for one final run of shows and we are honoured and excited to be joining her and her band.
